A private party with Tonbridge Brewery beer - image

Private Events

If you are setting up a bar for a private party, wedding, or any other event, and want to serve beer from a tap – we can offer a number of options.

The most popular option is to serve real ale from the cask – it is highly differentiated from bottles and cans, and relatively easy to set up.

A wide range of cask conditioned ales are available in 9 gallon and 4.5 gallon casks, which can be supplied in 2 ways.

1. “As it comes” A small amount of sediment is produced during the conditioning stage, when carbonation happens naturally. Therefore, the cask needs to be positioned at the point of serving, ideally 24 hours beforehand, and then vented and tapped a few hours before serving. The cask should also be kept cool, prior to, and whilst serving.
o This is the best way to enjoy real, cask conditioned ale as it is served in your local pub

2. Bright. This is where we will decant the ale from a settled, cool cask, into a fresh cask at the brewery. This option offers greater convenience as no settling period is needed, and the cask can be positioned and opened immediately prior to serving.
o Your beer will still taste great, but will have a shorter life, and should ideally be consumed on the day it is opened.

We can supply the taps and spiles needed to serve the ale – all you will need is a strong table to serve from and a rubber ended pallet to knock the tap in when you are ready.

Smaller quantities of cask conditioned ales can be served from our 5 litre mini kegs. A wide range is always available. These do not need any further equipment.

If you would rather serve from a keg, we have a range of beers available in 30L steel kegs or 30L Keykegs. Dispensing equipment (gas supply, cooler and supply lines) is needed for this option. Although we do not supply dispensing equipment, we can put you in touch with someone who can.

And finally, we have a range of canned ales and lagers that need nothing more than a fridge (or a large bucket of iced water)

Please have a look at the “our beers” page to see the full range, detailing colour, style, and strength of each beer
